POSITION SUMMARY:

As a part of the DAS engineering team, the Engineering Technician II will assist in the design, development, assembly, and testing of novel electronic and mechanical products for our military and commercial clients. You will be working with a team to assemble entire products or subcomponents, conduct quality inspection on parts and products, and prepare finished products for shipment. Common tasks include assembling wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and hardware units based on assembly instructions and engineering schematics. This position reports to the Chief of Engineering.

We are looking for both full-time and part-time on-site positions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work from schematics, diagrams, and verbal descriptions to perform assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of novel commercial and military hardware.

  • Assist in the development of design documentation including manufacturing drawings, in addition to assembly, test and evaluation protocols.

  • Support test engineering activities, such as test and verification of prototype assemblies.

  • Rotate through tasks for specific production processes.

  • Assist in part sourcing.

  • Conduct quality inspections on products and parts.

  • Prepare finished products for shipment.

  • Identify areas of improvement to increase production efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for good assemblers and teammates. If you have experience and can obtain a U.S. security clearance, send us your resume even if you don’t meet all of the qualification listed below. Past experience is a big plus, but we’re ready to train the right people.

Skills:

  • You must be able to follow written and verbal direction, read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, connector pin-outs, solder and build various types of wires and wire harnesses by laying out wires, lacing, crimping and populating various connectors.

  • You must be able to work independently and on a team to keep projects moving forward.

  • You must be detail-oriented and able to catch problems early to guarantee that we produce a quality product.

  • You must be able to use basic tools to assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies.

  • Proficiency with soldering best practices is preferred.

Experience

  • An associate degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred

  • 2+ years of hands-on, real-world experience is preferred

  • Knowledge and understanding of IPC-A-620 wire and cable requirements and J-STD-001 Soldering requirements is a plus

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

This position requires that the candidate be willing and able to complete a successful background screening for a US DoD security clearance.
